NO ROOM. NO VACANCY.

December 1, 2025 - February 28, 2026

The Historic Hampton House presents its 2025 exhibition NO ROOM. NO VACANCY., a powerful exploration of exclusion, resilience, and the lived realities shaped by race, gender, and economic inequity in America. Curated by three compelling voices, the exhibition brings together an impactful line-up of contemporary artists, including Alexandre Diop, Soli Kiani, and Iris Sageder, among others, whose works challenge the systems and narratives that have long denied access, dignity, and belonging. Notably, Alexandre Diop will also present a dedicated solo room within the exhibition, titled Civilisation ou Barbarie, offering a deeper, singular encounter with his practice.

Set within the storied walls of The Historic Hampton House, a beacon of refuge during the Jim Crow era, this exhibition invites viewers to confront the echoes of injustice that persist today. Through diverse and immersive mediums, the exhibition tells the stories of resilient individuals seeking dignity against adversity, highlighting the ongoing challenges faced by marginalized communities. As the final chapter of a three-part Art Basel series, following Gimme Shelter and Invisible Luggage, this exhibition demands that we confront our past, navigate our turbulent present, and envision a future grounded in dignity and belonging for all.
